Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I wanted to try out one of my new One-Liner: Happy dies with a technique I have seen out and about.

I'm not entirely pleased with the results. For some reason, the "Happy" die cut has a gap between the top paper. I think I just have to experiment a bit. :)

Anyway, here's the result, for better or worse!  ;)

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC121

I needed to create a Thanksgiving card for a dear friend and thought it would be fun to do that, while playing along with the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge:

I was pleasantly surprised with how this card turned out, especially for boldly trying purple as one of the fall colors! :)

A Tale of Three Challenges - CFC120, Curtain Call, and Clearly Besotted Stamps

I rarely get a chance to participate in more than one challenge, so when I saw the following opportunities:

I jumped at the chance!  (If you want to join the challenges, just click on the individual images above!)  :)

And I have to say so myself... I was REALLY happy with the card I came up with. :)

I was inspired by the lovely country blue in the photo as well as the gold sparkly tree. :) With regards to the blue band of paper that is crimped, I felt it needed more than just a plain blue band...so thus the crimping. :)

Here are some close-ups:

As I said, I'm really pleased with the colors and composition. I may have to remember this if I want to mass-produce for next year! :)

Clearly Besotted Challenge - Christmas!

When Clearly Besotted announced their latest challenge (here), I was excited to join along.

I absolutely adore Stephanie, the owner, so wanted to somehow offer my support.

Here's a card I created with her stamp set, "Signature Christmas".

I'm on a heat-emboss-resist kick, it seems!  :D

Ink: Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy (both PTI); Versamark
Paper: Ripe Avocado, Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy patterned paper (all PTI)
Other: Corner Chomper; Clear Star gel pen (Sakura); Glitter and clear EP; ATG; Dimensionals

Merry & Bright

Broke out an older Christmas stamp set (actually, it can be used in other ways, since the star of the show is a branch! ;) ) and had a play with it. :)

I try to use non-traditional Christmas colors each year and each year I'm rarely pleased with the results. :P

And a close-up. Regarding the extra sparkle on the needles... I actually thought about adding those RIGHT before I shot the photo. It just came to me...that little moment of sheer genius has struck me a few times in my life...this being the most recent. ;)

Stamps: Take a Bough (PTI)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU!); New Leaf, Blueberry Sky (both PTI); Onyx Black (Versafine)
Paper: Wal-mart white; Blueberry Sky PP, New Leaf, Classic Kraft (all PTI)
Other: Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Ticket Corner Punch (EK Success); ATG; Dimensionals; Sakura clear star gel pen

You paint my heart happy

Just a little card I made... using a technique I recently saw on a Make-it-Monday (Papertrey Ink) video. I didn't make it in time to submit it to their contest, but thought I'd share it just the same. :)

God is our Refuge - a masculine inspirational card

I often create faith-based, inspirational cards for women and then when a time comes when I want to send a buddy a card to let him know to hang in there, it's often hard to just pull from my stash.

I see you nodding your head. :)

I came up with this for the time when needed by a male friend or family member:
