Hello friends,
I know this is a crafting blog, but after hearing about the tragic tornado that caused so much destruction in the small towns in Oklahoma, I felt inspired to create a poem. I know from Whom my inspiration came.
Where was God?
"Where was God that day in Moore?"
some are bound to ask.
"Could He not control His winds?
Was He not up to the task?"
"What about the loss of hope,
the smallest infant's life?
What about the couple's fate?
The husband, and his wife?"
"Why did God allow this pain?
Is this part of His plan?
Does He find joy in our sorrow?
Explain, please if you can."
"When the roof came crashing down
of that darling school...
Did God even care to look?
Is our Father just that cruel?"
"And what about what happened next?
The looters and their greed.
Did our LORD ignore their work
Or the rescuers' cries of need?"
Questions that come natural
From the very start.
We would be wise to think about
Our Heavenly Father's heart.
I believe He was right there
Wiping away final tears.
I believe it was His voice
whispering in small ears:
"Right now you're afraid, small one.
Right now you fear harms.
But just a moment longer and
You'll feel safe in My arms."
"And teacher, do you hear My voice?
You know what must be done.
I'll give you courage to use your body
To shelter My precious one."
"And it will be My name that's called
Upon this very day.
As neighbors and their loved ones
Gather around to pray."
So where was God you question?
On the 20th of May?
He's where He's always been:
In the hearts of those who pray.
